Applications

Off-highway

Cooling air as a system task

Fan curve, cooler resistance, openings, leakage and recirculation determine the real operating point. Isolated component assessment is often insufficient.

Typical applications

The model may cover the whole machine, selected compartments or individual components.

  • Engine-bay and powerpack cooling
  • Fan and cooler integration
  • Exhaust routing and heat protection
  • Cab HVAC and defrosting
  • Structural and vibration assessment of mounts and frames

Operating conditions

Standstill, travel, high ambient temperature, part load and full load create different airflow paths and heat balances. Critical cases follow from the duty cycle.
