E-mobility · Energy & storage

Electric machines and power electronics

Electrical losses, Joule heating, rotating assemblies and heat transfer to cooling passages govern temperatures. Transient duty cycles can represent overload and cool-down.

Batteries and storage containers

Module spacing, airflow, climate-control units, solar load and component arrangement affect temperature spread and pressure loss.

  • Air or liquid cooling
  • Temperature uniformity
  • Pressure loss and fan operating point
  • Heat from inverters and auxiliary equipment

Thermomechanical coupling

Temperature gradients can load seals, housings, solder joints and mounts. Thermal results can be transferred to structural analysis when required.
