Optimization of cooler & cooler bonnet
There is less free space in modern applications so that manufacturers have to develop not usual shapes of systems to integrate them into the not to exceed dimensions of the application. The design and geometry of a cooler has not only a major influence on performance but on shape and design of the application itself. Evaluation of optimal geometry by using CFD technology improves product performance and supports the decision making.
Let's take a look at a CFD simulation of two versions of a oil cooler. It should achieve about 250 kW cooling power. Lets assume the same cooling mesh for two different inlet and outlet geometries. The CFD results below show a significant improvement of performance due to geometry optimization.
